I’m still keeping track of the boys’ developmental milestones.

►William, age three

 
At 2.5 to 3.5 years old, William could:

• Say Lightneen McKeen, Buzz Light Gear, and Hi-Tops for Triceratops, then start conversing like an adult.
• Go from diapers to fully potty trained in mere weeks, as long as he got to do everything by himself.
• Fantasy play about anything from dragons to dinosaurs.
• Hang up his own coat and put away his boots.
• Say the name of virtually every dinosaur discovered. (It improved my ability to pronounce unknown words, too.)

At 1 to 2 years old, Sam could:

• Race a 3-wheeler and ride his luggage
• Eat an entire salt shaker
• Draw on walls, stairs and bathtubs
• Empty a bottle of soy sauce in 45 seconds.
• Say Pappa, Mamma, Ta-Da!, Stinky and “Yeah”, instead of “No”. He said these words forever, then suddenly he was saying all words in context. We didn’t realize he was talking. Granny and Grampy discovered words like “water bottle” and “truck.”

►Michael, 6 weeks.

 
 
At birth to 3 months old, Michael could:

• Arch his back and lift his bum for a diaper change.
• Eat his entire fist.
• Flirt with three people at once.
• Work all four limbs at the same time.
• Blow bubbles.
• Laugh out loud in the bathtub.
• Stand on his “pins.” (his mini-legs)

▲Go trick or treating in a snow storm.

▲Hand out Halloween candy.
