The Adventures of William Robert Wallace Gray (2008 Year-in-Review)

William went on a lot of adventures this year. This article should read: threw up, slept, ate, peed, pooed, laughed etc., but we all know that William really had (and survived) adventures because he lives with Denise and Joe. Not only did he go to both Disneyland and Disneyworld in-utero, but his Momma wanted to take him out for breakfast the day he was born.

In December 2007, Denise, Joe and incubating William went to a medical conference for nine days in Sarasota, Florida. What? It’s only a 2.5 hour drive to Disneyworld? We almost do that for groceries in Montana. Of course we went every day. On the flight home on December 23, the plane was overbooked. We stepped off for two free tickets, dinner, an overnight hotel in Denver (saving us hotel costs in Great Falls), breakfast and two free toiletry bags. Yeah.

In May 2008, with two free tickets we decided to go to Los Angeles and Ventura, CA to visit friends and take in-utero William to Disneyland, too.

In July 2008, William went to his first parade and pow wow when he was only a few days old and his first fishing trip in Glacier National Park to get some sun.

In August, William went to his first wedding — Momma and Pappa’s! He and Momma travelled the Going-to-the-Sun Road for the first time with Pappa.

In October, William went on his first train ride to Seattle. People the next morning comment about how good the baby was in the night, but they weren’t sure if that was because William was actually quiet or if it was because his Pappa’s snoring covered for him. William got to see the ocean and visit with friends and family in Seattle, Polsbo, and Port Angeles at the Dungeness Crab Festival.

Also in October, William attended his second pow wow and discovered he loves kids’ pow wow music. His Grandpa says he will be a champion Chicken Dancer. Great Uncle Darryl gave him his first pair of beaded dance moccasins to practice in.

In November, William wore his bear suit on walks and suited up in December for his first cross-country ski trip off the front porch. It was a perfect ski night and he fell asleep.
